Maura Higgins is back in the United Kingdom following her trip to Los Angeles for work, as Danny Jones’ wife issues an ultimatum over his kiss with the Love Island star
Maura Higgins has returned to the UK – just as Danny Jones’ wife issued an ultimatum to the McFly singer. The Love Island star and the singer – who met on I’m A Celebrity last year – were spotted kissing at a BRITs party earlier this month.
Since news broke of their kiss, Danny has issued a grovelling public apology to his wife Georgia Horsley and she has moved out of the family home temporarily to spend time with her friends and “get away” from all that is going on.
In his statement, Danny “deeply apologised” for what he had done. He wrote on social media: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”
Whilst Maura has yet to speak publicly about the kiss, she did post online and has shared a snap of her suitcases as she landed back in Heathrow following her trip to Los Angeles for work. She had been a part of a huge shoot for Oh Polly but sources have told The Mirror it has been a tough few weeks for the star.
They said: “Maura is a tough character but the reaction to events has been utterly relentless, and it’s fair to say it’s taken its toll.
“She has found all of this very difficult to navigate. She appreciates she’s in the public eye and there is extra interest around her, but the abuse is off the charts, and people need to calm down. She is trying to treat things as business as usual, but it’s hard.”
It comes after sources claimed Georgia has issued Danny with an “ultimatum” ahead of his tour with McFly and Busted later this year. A source told Closer magazine: “Georgia is understandably nervous after recent events. She’s worried about what happens when he’s out on the road – but she also knows there’s a chance they can fix things.
“She’s given Danny a clear ultimatum – it’s now or never – and he needs to prove he’s all in.” Hopeful that the couple can reconcile, the insider added: “Danny doesn’t want to lose her and there’s still hope.”
Whilst Georgia has now moved out, the couple are seeing it as just a temporary thing. A source exclusively told us: “They are still together but Danny is still in the dog house and it’s very much a fragile union. They are both hoping to be able to work through their problems. That hasn’t changed. She is allowed a few days to decompress and see a friend.”
